Straight answers.

What do I need on site?

Power and an internet uplink. Starlink or cellular both work. Argus connects outbound through a private encrypted mesh, so it runs behind Starlink and carrier-grade NAT with no server, no static IP and no port forwarding.

Monitor only, or control too?

Both. You can start, stop and set pump speed remotely. Every command needs confirmation, respects user roles, and a site-wide safe-boot lock can force read-only.

Which pumps are supported?

Argus talks to the drive over Modbus, not to the pump, so any artificial lift running on a Modbus-capable VFD is a candidate. Invertek Optidrive P2 is running in the field today; WEG and Invertek E3 maps are built and ready to commission. Send us your drive model and we confirm compatibility in writing before you buy anything.

Is the cabinet rated for hazardous (classified) areas?

The standard cabinet is a NEMA 3R weatherproof enclosure for unclassified locations. NEMA 3R itself is not a hazardous-area approval. If your site has classified zones, placement and requirements are assessed per the site classification and local regulations during the compatibility check.

Is my data secure?

Encrypted transport, token-based login, role-based access, and a safe-boot mode that blocks all writes until an admin enables control.

How long to deploy a pad?

An afternoon. Mount the enclosure, connect it to the drive, power it up. The kit is pre-configured and self-registers.

What does it cost?

A one-time hardware kit per pad plus a flat monthly subscription per well. For scale: a conventional SCADA build starts at US$20,000–40,000 per pad before the first byte of data. Argus is a fraction of that. Exact numbers are sized to your field on the demo call.

Who owns my data, and can I export it?

You do. Every reading, alarm and report is yours: one-click CSV export, downloadable reports, and an API path if you want the raw feed elsewhere.

What happens if Argus the company disappears?

Your wells keep pumping. Control is local and authoritative. The field unit runs the pump on its own setpoints; the cloud only watches and reaches in. Worst case you lose the remote view, never the production.

Do you support rod pumps or ESPs, or only PCP?

Argus talks to the drive, not the pump. Any artificial lift running on a Modbus-capable VFD is a candidate. PCP is field-proven today; send your setup and we’ll confirm.

What does the internet link cost me?

A standard Starlink or cellular plan shared by the whole pad, typically the cheapest line item in the system. The telemetry itself is tiny.

Am I locked into a contract?

No lock-in. The kit is yours once it ships; the subscription is monthly per well. If you ever stop, the pad keeps pumping on its local setpoints. You only lose the remote view.

Who installs it?

Your own pumper or electrician. Mount the cabinet, land two connections on the drive, power it up. No integrator, no programming. We stay on the line for your first pad if you want us there.

What support comes with it?

A direct line to the engineers who built it: the same people running Argus on producing wells every day. Alarms, link health and the cloud are monitored on our side; you are never debugging a server on a pad.
